This is part two of December construction updates. Here is part one!

We went from a hole in the ground to a solid framed house complete with a roof all in ONE month! It’s incredible how fast a house can be built, but we’re not complaining!

Here’s a look at the rest of the progress for the last part of December, starting with the outside:December Construction Update - Building a HomeI love this photo. All of these were actually taken on Christmas so I put this particular picture up on Facebook with the caption, “First Christmas in our new home!” December Construction Update - Building a HomeDecember Construction Update - Building a HomeDecember Construction Update - Building a HomeDecember Construction Update - Building a HomeDecember Construction Update - Building a HomeDecember Construction Update - Building a HomeThe above photo was taken from the front porch looking out to the street. It’s amazing to think one day we’ll have all kinds of neighbors.

And some photos from the INSIDE:

One of the reasons why we liked this floor plan is because of where the stairs are located. There all situated in the back of the home and both the stairs to upstairs and the stairs to the basement are split with a landing.

It was a family affair to visit the house on Christmas. December Construction Update - Building a HomeHere’s a look at the upstairs. Though it doesn’t really make a lot of sense until drywall is hung, this is looking from John’s office through to my office and then Myles’ room.December Construction Update - Building a Home December Construction Update - Building a HomeMyles checking out the view from his room. This was the first time he stepped foot in his little area of the house and was pretty stoked. And well, it was Christmas so I’m sure he was already excited from opening presents in the morning, but overall he’s loved the process of watching our house being built. December Construction Update - Building a HomeThe very muddy and wet basement. December Construction Update - Building a HomeThe kitchen area. In front of us is the framework for the island and behind us is the pantry. December Construction Update - Building a HomeThis is another one of my favorites of Myles. He’s owning this picture!

Hooray for 2016! We’re so excited to see what this year and the next couple months hold. RELATED:
