This is part two of December construction updates. Click here to see part one.
We went from a hole in the ground to a solid framed house complete with a roof all in ONE month! It’s incredible how fast a house can be built, but we’re not complaining!
Here’s a look at the rest of the progress for the last part of December, starting with the outside:I love this photo. All of these were actually taken on Christmas so I put this particular picture up on Facebook with the caption, “First Christmas in our new home!” The above photo was taken from the front porch looking out to the street. It’s amazing to think one day we’ll have all kinds of neighbors.
And some photos from the INSIDE:
The family room looking from the kitchen area.
From the landing to the upstairs looking down onto the main floor. One of the reasons why we liked this floor plan is because of where the stairs are located. There all situated in the back of the home and both the stairs to upstairs and the stairs to the basement are split with a landing.
My dad, standing in the area between our kitchen and family room. It was a family affair to visit the house on Christmas. Here’s a look at the upstairs. Though it doesn’t really make a lot of sense until drywall is hung, this is looking from John’s office through to my office and then Myles’ room. Myles checking out the view from his room. This was the first time he stepped foot in his little area of the house and was pretty stoked. And well, it was Christmas so I’m sure he was already excited from opening presents in the morning, but overall he’s loved the process of watching our house being built. The very muddy and wet basement. The kitchen area. In front of us is the framework for the island and behind us is the pantry. This is another one of my favorites of Myles. He’s owning this picture!
And the last one is from the stairs looking towards the garage and family room.
Hooray for 2016! We’re so excited to see what this year and the next couple months hold. RELATED:
