So it’s the end of November and we’ve already went through the process of choosing our the location of our new home, figuring out the floorplan we wanted, then chose the lot and lastly signed the papers to make everything official on our 7th wedding anniversary! Oh, and here’s our October construction updates.
November was probably one of the most exciting months of construction, because it finally began! It takes about a month from the time the papers are signed until anything can be started because of permits. But once the company got the green light to build, they didn’t waste any time!
We started in the beginning of the month with the same view we had in October — the lot. But once the sign went up that it’s a ‘hard hat’ area, we knew something was going to happen soon. By mid-November, the hole for the house had been dug out and by the end of the month, the foundation had been poured and was setting nestled between these massive metal pieces, that were later removed.
It really started coming together in terms of being able to visualize how the layout will look, how big the basement really was going to be (hello, winter rollerskating parties!) and how the house sat on the lot.
Of course we visited every weekend, so you’ll notice the beautiful fall foliage dwindling down and the sky going from cloudy to sunny and back to cloudy throughout the pictures.
Love that John caught me taking a picture!
